Carbonless Forms started in 1987. Thirty-eight years later we’re the largest seller of printed carbonless forms in the world, and the reason is boring: we never let go of the job.

Somewhere in the last two decades, this category turned into websites. A shopping cart, a stock photo of a clipboard, a customer service queue — and no press anywhere in the building. Those companies take your file and sell it to whoever bid lowest that week. That’s called brokering. It’s a perfectly legal business. It’s just not printing, and it’s why your ply order came back backwards and nobody could tell you who to call.

We went the other way. We bought presses. Then we bought numbering machines. Then we built our own bindery so nothing would ever leave the building.

Today that’s three plants: Fort Worth, Texas. Columbus, Ohio. Reno, Nevada. Between them they print over 400 million forms a year — more than a million a day, every day. Three plants isn’t vanity. It’s geography: your job runs at whichever plant is closest to your dock, which is how a 2–3 business day production window still gets forms onto your loading dock inside the same week.

Under one roof at each plant: prepress, press, numbering, collating, padding, perforating, packing. The person who padded your books can walk twenty feet and look at the sheet that came off press. Nothing gets handed to a stranger — because the handoff is exactly where ply order, numbering and legibility go wrong.

That’s also why we can write a guarantee with teeth in it. When a broker’s job goes bad, they have to go negotiate with somebody else’s printer to make you whole. When ours goes bad, we just run it again and pay the freight.
